The area around Nabburg offers numerous, attractive trails.
Nabburg-Kulm: 6 kilometres, about 2h
You can start at the „Kastanienbaum“ in the west of Nabburg; go towards the ski lift, then through the forest. After that, you have to cross the street below the motorway (Prag-Nürnberg), from Passelsdorf onwards you have to take the field and forest paths towards the „Kulm“ where you can find the lookout tower of the „Oberpfälzer Waldverein Nabburg“. You can get the key for the lookout tower in the inn „zum Kulm“, which lies 500 further in the south. It is also possible to take the „Main-Donau-Weg“ as a way back.
Nabburg-Perschen: 2 kilometres, 0,5 h
You can start at the old town hall (Oberer Markt); then go into the „Sackwebergasse“ which lies at the town wall and offers a beautiful view; then you should step down the stairs and go along the footpath. After that, cross the level crossing barrier and the footbridge. Then follow the footpath along the river Naab towards Perschen (on the way, one can see a Romanesque church, the Karner, the Bauernmuseum with the Brotzeitstüberl (farmer's museum with a little inn to make a tea break). In the south-east of the village you can find the Freilandmuseum (open-air museum) Neusath-Perschen
Neusath-Wiesensüß (circular trail); 7,5 kilometres, about. 2,5 h
You can start at the „Schlosswirtschaft“ of Neusath (in the north of Nabburg); first one should go north-eastwards, past the „Richtmühle“ and Haselhof (which can be found at the right side on the way), then past Wiesensüß and Tauchersdorf and then through Haselhof back to Neusath.
Nabburg-Häuslberg (circular trail); 11 kilometres, about 3 h.
You can start at the Oberviechtacher Straße at the eastern edge of the town of Nabburg, then cross the motorway (Hof-Regensburg). At the edge of the town, go left into the Sauerzapfstraße, then immediately right, past the ponds, Namsenbach, through the forest until Häuslberg (which has been a quarry in earlier times). Then go westwards back through Neusath, Namsenbach, Nabburg. 750 metres eastwards of Neusath you can find the Oberpfälzer Freilandmuseum (open-air museum) Neusath-Perschen.
Diendorf-Zitterbach (circular trail); 6 kilometres, about 2 h.
You can start in Diendorf, in the Schwarzacher Straße at the fire brigade's station. Then go towards Schwarzach (neat Nabburg). After 400 metres past the Zitterbachbrücke, you should go left and use the forestry path in the eastward direction and the go north towards Höflarn. Having landed there go westwards. The first 150 metres are on a tarred street, then go left towards Diendorf on a field path.
Nabburg-Brünnl; 2,5 kilometres, about 1h
You can start at the „Brünnlweg“ at the southern edge of the town of Nabburg. Then you should follow the the „Brünnlweg“, go past the municipal building yard. At the midway of the „Alten Naab“ go to the pilgrimage chapel „Maria Brünnl“ with its source of medicinal water (one gets there by stepping down the stairs). Every year at Easter Monday there is the so called „Osterritt“ and on Assumption Day (August 15, Maria Himmelfahrt) there is a religious festival at the Brünnl. Another possible way back to Nabburg is the „Diebsteig“.
Nabburg-Diebsteig; 3,5 kilometre, about 1 h.
You can start at the place name sign of Nabburg towards Schmidgaden; at the beginning of the forest, there is a footpath on the left side which, at first, runs parallel to the street. Then you have to pass the cemetery called „Waldfriedhof“, then turn off to the left. After that, go down the valley to the pilgrimage chapel „Maria Brünnl“ with its source (if one descends the stairs). Another possible way back to Nabburg is the „Brünnl-Weg“.
Nabburg-Bergelshof (circular trail); 5 kilometres, about 2 h
You can start at the hospital („Kreiskrankenhaus“) which is located between the Bergelshofer Steig and the „Dr.-Simbeck-Straße“; then go along the edge of the forest into the northern direction until one reaches a tarred road. After that, go past the large water container, the police station and then turn off to the left (first go southwards and then eastwards in the end), past Bergelshof, the main entrance of the police station and the residential buildings, then on path inside the forest (with a nice view of Nabburg) back to the starting point.
Nabburg-Eixlberg; 5,5 kilometres, about 1,5 h
You can start at the basic primary and secondary school; then go 750 m on the road towards Kemnath a. B., then turn off to the right, at the „Josefikapelle“ with the two lime trees one should turn of to the left, then, in the forest you should go northwards into the right direction, past a farm, Untersteinbach, then go left up the Eixlberg (where you can find a pilgrimage church, and the hermitage of the „Oberpfälzer Waldverein Preimd“). A hiking trail (marked by a red point) leads towards Wernberg Köblitz. The way back from Untersteinbach is also possible by train (at the station of Pfreimd).
Nabburg-Reichhardtschacht 6 kilometres, about 2h
You can start in the West of Nabburg at the „Kastanienbaum“, then follow the lightly ascending way, past the playground and the police station, westwards until Etzelhof. Afterwards go into south-eastern direction past Lissenthan and also past the former fluorite pit Hermine until you reach the mine Reichhartschacht that was preserved for visitors.
